A late night IM conversation with my boyfriend brought up 90s songs, and the New Radicals came up. Some thoughts:
- “Get What You Give” is the one-hit wonder that everyone in their 30s (!) knows but I always liked this song (“Someday We’ll Know”) better, especially as it resonated with my “I would like to have a boyfriend so I can know how it feels to get your heart broken” phase in college.
- This is a really good pop song. It needs to be covered more. Someone get on that, please.
- I associate this song with listening to it at a listening station at the Tower Records in Davis, California. Tower Records: good for listening stations, $20 Import CDs of Electronic Music, and magazines about weed. (Do they still publish magazines about weed? Hell, do they still publish magazines?)
- Bucket hat. I would start a tumblr blog called “Fuck yeah bucket hats,” but let’s be honest - the only post it would have would be this video and that one Jordan Knight song.
